Histone H3.1 mouse monoclonal antibody
Histones are the structural scaffold for the organization of nuclear DNA into chromatin. Four core histones, H2A, H2B, H3, and H4, are the major components of nucleosome which is the primary building block of chromatin. The histone proteins play essential structural and functional roles in the transition between active and inactive chromatin states. Histone H3.1, an H3 variant that has thus far only been found in mammals, is replication dependent and is associated with gene activation and gene silencing.
